Winter is fast approaching. And sure enough your skin will be among the casualties of the coldness and dryness brought about by this season. In winter, outdoor humidity is in the lowest levels. Meanwhile, as you use the heater more often inside your home or office, the level of skin moisture is sapped further. So in winter, Santa is not only the one who will come to town, it will also be the time for dry and scaly skin.
To make matters worse, your dry skin may also be aggravated by your poor diet. The food that you eat plays a major role in keeping a sufficient level of skin moisture. And speaking of a moisturized skin, how many glasses of water do you drink each day? Not much. Most people will not even touch a glass of water until they feel parched.
Then there is age and genetic factors. As you age, your skin's ability to self-moisturize declines. This is why older people generally have wrinkles and blemishes on their skin. And if you take a look at members of your genetic line and they have dry skin, you may well expect that you will have the same skin type when you reach their age or even earlier in your life.
Dry and unprotected skin can be a big problem. As the skin is the largest of all the organs of the human body, it is hard to imagine that such an important part of the body is left at the mercy of climate changes and fouled-up surroundings. Just think about what will happen if your skin just stopped functioning. Which organ is going to balance body temperature or handle your sense of touch? Above all, which organ is going to determine whether you have beautiful features?
Now you may think that there is not much hope for your skin. Like a well in the desert, your skin is bound to dry up; and then wrinkles and age spots will come next. After all, you can not stop winter from coming. And you definitely can not turn back the wheels of time nor can you alter your genetic traits to have soft and smooth skin. Even if you can certainly try to change the food you eat and drink plenty of water, you would think there is not much that you can do to save your skin from dryness.
Well, you're wrong! Despite the presence of harsh environmental conditions and other factors that are beyond your control, you can still maintain a healthy skin. Always remember that when it comes to the health of your skin, it is always about moisture. In fact, the skin has oil glands that provide the natural lotion needed to keep the skin from drying out.
The key to keeping your skin soft, smooth, and younger-looking as ever is to nourish and rejuvenate it with sufficient moisturizers. In short, you need to help the skin's glands in providing moisture to your skin. Eating the right food and drinking lots of water provide a good start, but these efforts are not enough.
In an age when astringent chemicals have become important components in manufacturing cosmetics and other derma products, one can never be sure how the skin will react to most skin care products out in the market. There is always a big chance that the soap or lotion you are using can harm your skin. ReplyDeleteThe best and easy methods to have a healthy skin is to drink a lot of water everyday, stay away from junk and fast foods, eating more vegetable and fruit or salad and have a good sleep.

ReplyDeleteThanksa lot, great post. I think enough but not too much sleep and drinking more helps quite a lot. I was often dehydrated I think, after getting used to drink more water my skin improved.. and I agree about most products, they often do more harm than anything else.

Nutrition is very important for overall health so green leafy vegetables and fruits are so much beneficial for that with that drink plenty of water it flush out toxins from your body, take good sleep maximum 8 hrs and do some yoga which brings glow to your face and also helps to prevent wrinkles.

ReplyDeleteFor healthy skin,its true that we have to eat right food rich of nutrients and drink plenty of water..one way i can suggest for rejuvenating skin in winters, is to do coconut oil massage for for 5 mins before going off to bed..It will definitely prevents your skin from dryness..
